Silver Cuff Noor - black silk blend

hand combed North American Yak fiber
$48.00
With ancestry from the Tibetan plateau, yak have been revered for thousands of years but only recently raised and bred in North America. The Tibetans refer to their yak as "NOOR", translated to "treasure". Our yak fiber is blended with tussah silk for extra elegance--offered in this yarn blend as our own Silver Cuff Noor.

Less than 8,000 yak reside in the US, and less than 100 are raised for fiber only! This rare and exquisite North American Yak down has been hand combed at our farm in New Jersey over weeks during the spring months as the herd naturally releases their fiber. Each yak will release less than one (1) pound of yak per year. Yak down presents one of the finest and softest fibers harvested in North America, is lanolin-free, antimicrobial, and thermoregulating. Our herd fiber has been tested at an average of under 22 micron.

Yak are gentle grazers, offering this beautiful, sustainable and regenerative fiber to cherish.
